I just checked ygroupauctions.com/ to see if there were already items listed for the auction. There are already 120 items, most are for the TAG sale. Lots of good items.
Usually we only see a couple items until the week before the auction. So this upcoming one should be BIG with still 2 weeks left to register items.
Hi,
How early could fish be dropped off at the auction site? We have a bunch of fish we're considering bringing to the auction, but have to be up in Philly by 11 or maybe noon at the latest.
The Foundation, Inc., an independent non-profit branch of the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society, will collect donations at the Spring All-Day Auction. Proceeds support tropical fish related research grants and the preservation of rain forest tropical fish habitats. Please consider making a tax deductible donation.
Donation receipts from this 501(c)(3) are available upon request.
What is the single most effective thing our members can do to help out with the Spring All-Day Auction right now? Enter your livestock into MGA.
Every seller who enters at least one lot of fish or shrimp into MGA by noon on Friday, March 29, will receive 1 free Bump-Up to use or giveaway as they please.
Why is it so important to enter fish and shrimp early? Because that's the single most critical deciding factor in people (bidders) making the decision about whether the drive to the auction is worth it. Bidders will cross state and county lines for desirable livestock. The more bidders we have, the better for the sellers, and the better for the club.
Even if you've never entered fish or shrimp into the auction before, look over your tanks and evaluate whether you need to reduce your livestock. Have your shrimp been finding lots of nooks and crannies to deposit eggs in? Have those livebearer fry been finding good hiding spots in the java moss? Is your stem plant jungle hiding a clutch of ancistrus juvies?
See you at the Auction!
