Hi I’m Terry. I always want to join a fish club but I feel awkward around people I don’t know and its a bit far from home. I really enjoyed the speakers. The angel fish guy was great, and the goldfish guy was freaking awesome. Im personally not a fan of goldfish but after he was done I can definitely appreaciate the passion for what he does and I learned a number of things i didn‘t know before. I could listen to him talk for hours. I did win a raffle and picked some live daphnia but didn’t hang out for the auction cause I didn’t want to be tempted to buy stuff I am not prepared for. The temptation was quite high when I saw that beautiful nubius sell for 9 bucks. I’m not a big forum guy but I am so looking forward to the next meeting. Thank you for breaking my expectations

Wow, great return to fish keeping and what beautiful plants and tanks you have.
This tank has been running for 3 to 4 months. When I got the Madagascar lace it only had 2 small leaves on it. Boy was I surprised when it took off. It’s only a month and a week old. So far I’ve had no problems and this is my first planted tank. I did a lot of research on youtube before started. I’m still waiting on a algae bloom but hasn’t happened yet. Seems dialed in alr
Check out that gorgeous Madagascar Lace Plant. Wow.
Really nice looking tank.
My plant tank
So June’s Meeting was great too. I went a little overboard on the auction but it was my first auction. I’ll be spending less in July lol. Bought a led light, red substrate for my son, 10 plus cherry shrimp, put them in temporary in my guppy tank, 20 plus cherry shrimp, they are in my heavily planted 75g tank and they are breeding. Seen several with eggs. Always bought all the Killy fish available, 2 breeding pairs, a young female and a male and 1 fry. Gonna start and record a breeding project after I go on vacation. I also bought a nubius plant. Plants are what brought me back into to hobby.
Hi Terry,
Welcome aboard. There's not a fish club around every corner, so many of us do have to make a commitment to drive some distance to join our fellow hobbyists for meetings. Glad you felt it was worth it. Couldn't make the May meeting due to NOLA JazzFest but hope to meet you in June. We have a great lineup of speakers for the remainder of the year.
Best, Patchin
Thank you guys. Just wanted to introduce myself and show my appreciation. Only wish I got off my butt and joined earlier.
Welcome to PVAS.
Welcome to the club!!!! Everyone here is really nice and knowledgeable.
Welcome to PVAS! Anubias plants are great. Low light and you don’t have to plant it.
