Nova Tropicals was able to order me some rabbit snails about 3 weeks ago and I picked up 3 yellow foot rabbit snails 2 weeks ago and already have 2 babies!!! Also picked up 2 black foot white spot ones as well.
Muddy, my distributor did not get in the Rabbit snails this week. I got in lots of White Hercules snails--cool snail, grows to 4"--& can bring ya 2 of tgese, if ya like. They are $4 each/$3 each for PVAS members.
Orange Rabbits showed up again on this week's stocklist. They also have White Hercules snails. I can get the Rabbits for same cost I listed before, $7 ea. ($6 ea. for PVAS members), HOWEVER, you will need to buy a minimum of 5. Cost of the Hercules is less, $4 ea. ($3 ea. for members), w/ a minimum purchase of 5. Let me know by 9am Monday the 2nd.
Londontowne Tropicals carries a number of exotic snails. I noticed Mystery, Apple, and Assassin snails for sure, but I think they may have had Rabbit snails as well.
If Orange Rabbits are still on next week's stocklist, I can get them for ya. They're not cheap, tho. If their price still the same, they'd be $7 each (will do $6 each of you're card carrying PVAS member) w/ minimum purchase of 5.
Rabbit snails! Now there's a snail I can get behind. Hate MTS because their population can explode for no apparent reason, and it's so hard to control them. I'm not crazy about pond and ramshorn snails either, but they're much more manageable, and they don't burrow into the poret foam and foul equipment not to mention stabbing me when I'm picking them out. I could go on, but you get the picture :)
Be careful what you wish for! I will bring some for you for free.
I'm in the process of trying to eradicate them from the last two tanks in my fish room that still have them. I hate them so much they rob me of my joy in fishkeeping. The only way to kill every last one of them in a planted tank is to add HCl until the pH is about 3.0 taking care to thoroughly stir the substrate so that it is thoroughly acidic. In that way you can dissolve the operculum in a week or two. After that, I bake the substrate at 300F for 2-3 hours until the internal temp reached 212F and remains there for at least 30 minutes or so. Just in case any were burrowed deep enough in the substrate to avoid the acid bath.
But everyone is different, so I can set aside a few for you. :)

I ordered a ton. As long as they send them, I'll bring 5 for ya. :-)

Unfortunately I will not be at the Big Fish Deal this year.
I might have some available at CCA's Big Fish Deal next month
