I just got a water hardness pen test, and its showing that the water is at 768ppm. From reading on diferenrent sites, i found out that the water is extremelly hard.
I keep Neon Tetras and this nano-fish like to thrive on very much softer water (specially if youre like to start breeding them)
Does anybody have any idea on how to lower tha water hardness without using Reverse Osmosis or Rainwater ?
Rafa, so sorry, but rainwater or RO it is if you'd like to keep soft water fish. Or, you can switch to species that enjoy harder water. There are many to choose from.
Collect rainwater and snow. Dilute the tap water with it. You could also try the dehumidifier water also.
Are you referring to a TDS meter? If you are then that number is not a true indicator of hardness but just the total dissolved solids in the water. for hardness you really should use a GH test kit and KH test kit.
