A young widow with small children lost her hobbyist husband this last Spring. She is not able to maintain the approximately 14 or so tanks. She has kept them topped up with water and fed the animals but performed no other maintenance. She asks our help in taking away both animals and equipment. She lives in Fredericksburg, VA.
To make this task manageable, I am looking for volunteers on two separate dates:
Saturday, September 7 to bag up all fish and some shrimp to bring to meeting mini-auction
Saturday, October 5 to bag up remaining shrimp and equipment to bring to all-day auction on Sunday
There are 2 tanks of fish (she mentioned mollies and perhaps other livebearers). The rest are what sounds to be a fairly extensive collection of Caridina and Neocaridina shrimp kept in species dedicated tanks, although we won't know until we get there and evaluate the situation. I'd like to have a minimum of two people there on each of the days. I've asked her to perform water changes before we come to avoid sending the animals into shock.
Please help this widow and your club by responding to this forum posting if you can help.
Hi Jae, As far as I'm aware no help is required at this time. Thank you very much for your kind offer to take time out of your weekend to help.
