Aqua Pharm Foods' delivery is as bad as their products are wonderful. Still waiting on an order from September. I think Frank got them off their duff's the last time I ordered. Does anyone know of a comparable food? Fish are probably burnt out on Ken's flakes. For all of the really nice lfs around here, the food selections are pretty limited.

I use, and really like, Omega One flakes and Xtreme pellets. The fish all seem to like them and I get good results. I sell both locally at Chico's Natural Pet Market in Falls Church.
Unless I grow it myself, fresh is out of the question. No suppliers I trust here 🙄
I haven't been inside an lfs since covid-19 hit, although I tried once but the one I use is in the middle of where the rioting takes places in Minneapolis and it was closed, so no frozen in a while, either. Aqua Pharm Foods are dessicated, not baked, so no heat damage to the nutrients. I have raised several generations of gouramis on it and the lfs raves about how nice they are when I bring them in. I traded them 46 last time almost 1 for 1 for otos, ancistrus, and rummy nosed tetras.
So, Omega One? I can probably get that on Amazon. Thanks.
I don't know the ingredients list on aqua pharm foods but of the typically available foods I like omega one as compared to others the proteins or greens are higher up on the list and they use less protein meals than others do. Then again the fish food debate is just about as volatile as any other pet food debate and nobody seems to have much to back up their position. I tend to feed a mix of fresh, frozen, and pellet or flake foods just to hit all my bases. I prefer fewer grains just because that seems to make sense to me and I hold grudges against "big" brands like Purina although at this point even Omega One is owned by the same company as Tetra so you can't really escape it on retail shelves.
