All-Aquarium Catfish Convention 2008: Expedition Amazon
Presented by the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society

Friday Evening Rotating Workshop

A new and exciting feature that the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society brings to Expedition Amazon is interactive workshops. Small groups of convention guests will rotate through stations where they will have the opportunity to interact with topic experts. Workshop presenters will have physical displays for hands-on demonstrations of their material. The presentations will be short, focused and dynamic, designed to keep convention guests active and engaged through each station.

Workshop Stations:

Ian Fuller: Breeding Corydoradine Catfishes
Noted catfish author and Catfish Study Group Chairman Ian Fuller will demonstrate the physical setups he has used to great success in breeding Corydoradine catfishes in aquaria. His station will include demonstrations of tank sizes, filtration strategies, temperature control, and water treatments that he has used in his astonishing success breeding these fishes.

Greater Washington Aquatic Plant Association: Catfishes for the Planted Aquarium
Members of GWAPA will discuss catfish species most appropriate for advanced planted aquascapes. Included will be examples of species used for algae control and other “clean up” duties as well as plant-safe
